Arkema’s former North American headquarters occupied multiple scattered buildings across their large R&D campus. As they considered options for the new headquarters, two main goals were to house their entire team together to promote collaboration and efficiency and align with the design of their global headquarters in France. Arkema envisioned a custom-designed environment that would highlight their specialty materials and refreshed brand identity—and embody their transformation in the marketplace and forward-thinking approach to teamwork and creativity. They engaged our Workplace and Office team to turn this vision into reality.
We provided interior design, furniture design services, branding and signage design support, as well as change management support. With a workplace vision at the forefront, we provided pre-design workplace strategy services—from visioning and discovery to programming and planning concepts. To meet the needs of more than 400 employees, we designed flexible departmental neighborhoods which can support a variety of work settings for individual and team work. We also considered acoustics, brand identity, and task-based programming in our final design.
Drawing inspiration from the molecular structure of Arkema’s specialty products, our design team infused the space with soft curves, angles, and layers of texture. These elements shaped the floorplan, architecture, and material choices—creating a clean, timeless environment that emphasizes Arkema’s dedication to sustainability. To create this timeless, adaptable space, a neutral architectural palette serves as a canvas for branded graphics and Arkema’s own products.
With a new office that consolidates multiple buildings and aligns with a global headquarters design, Arkema and their employees can experience a more friendly, efficient workplace.
