As a founding director and lead designer, Myoungkeun Kim has spearheaded design efforts with his partner Hyeojoo Park in all projects since its establishment. Implementing design technology and integrating sustainability standard into design schemes are also part of his efforts within the practice. Prior to establishing Fish Design Lab he has practiced architecture and urban design as senior designer and project manager at the industry-leading design firms including Machado and Silvetti Associates, Kyu Sung Woo Architects, Gensler, and Goody Clancy in Boston. While working at Machado and Silvetti Associates, he joined the team during Construction Document phase and later promoted to a project manager to oversee construction of a 50,000 square feet of Civic Building in Silver Spring, MD. The project has been published through various media including Inform Magazine and Architecture News Plus. Mr. Kim taught a design studio at Boston Architectural College and is currently teaching at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He graduated with a Master in Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Architecture in 2002. He is an active member of Boston Society of Architects, the United States Green Building Council, and American Institute of Architects. He is also NCARB certified and registered to practice in New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Texas.
