About Tom Kovac Architecture
Tom Kovac is a
Professor of Architecture at RMIT University and Visiting Professor at SCI_Arc
Los Angeles. Kovac has lectured and exhibited in Europe, Japan and the United
States. At the 2002 Venice Architecture Biennale, he exhibited his proposal for
the New World Trade Centre in the United States Pavilion as well as projects
for the Alessi Tea & Coffee Towers and the proposal for the RMIT Digital
Gallery in the arsenale section of the Biennale. In 2004 Kovac participated in
the Milan Triennial, The Sir John Soane Museum London, The Wexner Museum Ohio,
the Non Standard Architectures at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Venice
Biennale 9th International Architecture Exhibition, the 1st Beijing
Architecture Biennial in China, Algorithmic Architecture at the ZKM Center for
Art and Media (Karlsruhe), Radical Architecture at The Mori Museum (Tokyo). In
2004 Kovac was also Creative Director for the lab.3000 Digital Design Biennale
at Melbourne Museum. Current projects include product designs for Alessi,
Cassina IXC, architectural commissions in Australia, Europe, Japan and the
United Arab Emirates In 2006 Kovac participated in the ArteScienza in Rome, The
Architecture biennial Beijing China, the 10th International Venice
Architecture Biennale where he exhibited in the Singapore Pavilion, Singapore
Built Unbuilt. In 2008 Kovac exhibited at the 11th Venice
Architecture Biennale and at BIACS 3rd Seville Art Biennale in
Spain. Tom Kovac’s project work is included in the collections of the FRAC
Centre Orleans, The American Library of Congress Washington, The Alsip Museum
Italy and The Centre Pompidou Paris.
