OMGEVING is an independent design consultancy working in the areas of spatial planning and development, architecture and public space design. The company was founded in 1973. Since then it has grown to become a leader in the field, with a well-motivated, experienced team comprising more than 50 architects, urban planners, spatial planners, geographers, landscape architects and mobility experts.

The consultancy is involved in work for both private and public sectors, creating designs on many different scales, ranging from cross-border perspectives for landscaping plans and buildings to interior design and street furnishing projects. The company came up with pioneering ideas for the first-generation spatial structural plans in Puurs, Zemst and the Rupel region, to name only a few. For these projects OMGEVING was awarded numerous prizes. The company has acquired wide-ranging experience in social housing construction and renovation, including the successful renovation of the Canada blocks in the Luchtbal district in Antwerp, the submission and implementation of the renovation plan for the entire stock of social housing society Mechelse Goedkope Woning, and the realisation of the Eikhof social housing project in Lint. OMGEVING has also received recognition for the realisation of the park pavilions alongside the ecological swimming pond at Boekenberg Park in Antwerp, the refurbishment of the station boulevard at Antwerp Central Station, the restructuring of the E313-E314 interchange in Lummen and the renovation of Kardinaal Mercierplein/Place Cardinal Mercier in Jette.

The consultancy is currently working on the design for the new library in Zoersel, the change of use feasibility study for the Heilig Sacramentskerk (Church of the Blessed Sacrament) in Berchem, the refurbishment of the Baudelohof in Ghent, the extension of the municipal park in Aalst, the designs for the new Horing Park in Asse and the new Tinel Park in Mechelen, a vision for the future of the clay quarries in Boom and Rumst, the master plan for the Ghent Dampoort station district, the Ghent tram network extension, the City of Vilvoorde housing survey and a boundary definition for the Halle small-town district.
