For MPA, design is a way to take things that exist in the world and intensively revalue them through invention and design innovation.  Any project intervenes in natural and built environments that already exist, which have been invested by social practices long before new needs sponsor their transformation.  Closely examining what is, we derive meaning and express identity through reciprocity: inside and outside, architecture and landscape, existing and new.  Our multi-scalar, multidisciplinary thinking enables us to take on challenging sites and tight budgets: discovering synergies between client, program, and place, we invent solutions that transform liabilities into benefits.
