About JAKLITSCH / GARDNER ARCHITECTS PC
Jaklitsch /
Gardner Architects PC
is an award-winning,
internationally recognized architecture and design studio that has won acclaim
for its ability to create buildings, objects and spaces that engage their users
and respond to their cultures and contexts. The firm takes an expansive view of design – creating projects at
every scale from products and temporary installations to commercial buildings
and urban plans. J/GA seeks to engage the
physical qualities of construction - believing that the conceptual framework of
each project derives from the context, time and place of each project, and that
restrictions and requirements serve as design opportunities. Jaklitsch / Gardner Architects recently completed construction of a
flagship building in Tokyo for Marc Jacobs International and has proposed
several
larger urban projects, including competition
entries for the West Cork Arts Center in Cork, Ireland; The Lebanese-Omani
Centre in Beirut, Lebanon; and Open Fort 400, an urban redevelopment project in
Amsterdam North. In December 2009, ORO Editions published Stephan Jaklitsch:
Habits, Patterns, Algorithms, which
focuses on the studio’s work over its first ten years.
