About Carney Logan Burke Architects
Context, culture, and community motivate and inspire the work of Carney Logan Burke Architects. The firm practices an architecture that is simple and direct, expressive of structure and purpose, and committed to both human utility and environmental sustainability. Responsive, relevant design must embrace innovation. To this end, the firm proposes architectural solutions that are respectful of the past, but speak to the present through new applications of technology and materials.
The firm maintains a commitment to enhance mountain communities through thoughtful, innovative design and to create a legacy of buildings in tune with the region’s natural beauty.
Since its inception the studio has grown to accommodate a staff of 20 led by founding principal John Carney and partners, Eric Logan and Kevin Burke. The organization maintains an informal and collegial atmosphere that encourages individual creativity and teamwork in an open, collaborative environment.
The work of the office spans a wide variety of project types in Wyoming and the greater west. Community facilities, commercial buildings, resorts, and mixed-use complexes make up the public side of the practice, while affordable housing and residential architecture allows the firm to apply a broad range of materials and technologies. In both institutional and residential projects the firm’s commitment to sustainable design and sense of place has resulted in numerous awards and publications including the American Institute of Architects Western Mountain Region Firm of the Year in 2009.
