Archi-Tectonics New York City & Netherlands- Smart, Sustainable Architectural Design
Winka Dubbeldam is the principal of Archi-Tectonics NY [1994] and Archi-Tectonics NL [1997]. Dubbeldam has lectured internationally and taught extensively at the Masters Programs of Columbia, NYC, Cornell, NYC, Harvard, Cambridge and currently holds the position of Director of the Post Graduate Program at PennDesign, Philadelphia. She has served as juror in International design competitions [recently in the Architecture Biennale in Bogota, Columbia] and as the External Examiner for the AA [Architectural Association] in London. She recently joined the Board of Directors of the Institute of Urban Design, NY [2010]. Winka received the “Emerging Voice” award [2001], was the Award winner in the IIDA / Metropolis Smart Environments Award [2006], and Archi-Tectonics recently won the Design Competition for a Sustainable Neighborhood &Farmers Market on Staten Island, NY [2008].
Archi-Tectonics is expanding our reach with projects currently under way in China and Colombia, South America, as well as Staten Island, NY.
Archi-Tectonics’ recent built work includes, among others, the 80,000sf mixed-use GW497 building in NYC, the 15-story American Loft tower in Philadelphia, the 2500sf GT residence & guesthouse Upstate NY and the 3000 sf Prefab DUB-residence in Holland, the 9-story residential Vestry building, the LRH mixed-use building, a townhouse in Chelsea, all in NYC. Commercial work includes the World-wide stores for PORTS1961, and a school in Liberia Africa. The work has recently been exhibited in MOMA, NY, MOCA, Los Angeles, the Venice Biennale, Italy, and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
