Ever wanted to live in a Frank Lloyd Wright house? Well, now you can — for just $1.79 million! Our friends at Curbed have reported that the Gerald B. and Beverley Tonkens House in Cincinnati, Ohio, designed by Wright in 1955, has just hit the market for the very first time.
Set on more than 4 acres of land, behind a custom Wright-designed gate, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The structure itself measures a cool 3,100 square feet and includes three bedrooms and two baths.
Like many of Wright’s homes from the time, the design of the Craftsmen-styled abode places an emphasis on linear form, with various rectangular patterns repeated throughout the accommodation. The sale of the house even includes much of the custom-made furniture, original to the design of the home. Hey, that hefty price tag isn’t looking too bad … Click through to see more pictures of the Tonkens House!

If you have $895,000 and fancy a piece of architectural heritage, you’re in luck! A landmark Frank Gehry house in Los Angeles County has hit the market for the first time. Built in 1981 for the Benson family in the highlands of the City of Calabasas, the 1,719-square-foot two-bedroom, three-bath house is split down the middle by a small moat. Laden with exterior circulation elements—plywood decks, stairs, and sculptural railings—the design presents a spatial sequence that recalls the logic of a Japanese garden. If you’re in LA, check out one of the open houses (October 23 and 28) or click through for more pictures!

Are you in the market for a Manhattan loft filled with one-of-a-kind, off-beat decor? Well have we found the perfect place for you! (Let’s ignore the nearly $3 million price tag, for now.) Our friends over at Curbed are reporting that famed industrial designer Karim Rashid has listed his Chelsea loft for sale.
Rashid is known for his eccentric designs, many of which fill the loft that he purchased in 2008 for $2.475 million. While his furniture designs are not included in the sale of the residence, the space does boast Rashid-designed “faucets, sinks, mirrors, and tiles”. The loft was even featured in a 2010 issue of Interior Design magazine (and maybe is even worthy of an Architizer A+ Award for Residential Interiors? Then again, maybe not.) Currently used as a one bedroom with an adjacent office, the apartment is listed at $2.795M, a steal at only $320K more than Rashid paid for the space, right?
