A+ Finalist Spotlight: Retail
February 19, 2013
It’s (probably not) safe to say that if you’ve got an office job, you’re shopping online right now — or soon will be. It’s a shame because a lot is happening in store design! There’s been a resurgence in the design of the flagship store, with brands seeking hip designers to create visual identities that unify their urban outlets. The results are almost always interesting, often consisting of outlandish, head-scratching displays that do what an online site cannot: frame space and shape experience, haptic or otherwise. So while you’re flipping through browser tabs from your bank balance and your Amazon shopping cart (we’re all well familiar with the “Save for Later’ button and the sharp pang of disappointment that it brings), have a look at the top A+ finalists for “Architecture + Retail.” Click through to see all five!
