Project: SLIDE Cooperative House
Architect: Komada Architects Office
Location: Tokyo
Conforming to the shapes of staggered staircases, this new apartment building by Komada Architects zig-zags above the neighborhood like a series of geometric hilltops. At the top of each peak, residents have access to a rooftop patio, giving a sweeping view of the dense Tokyo landscape. Nine separate units are connected by angular paths around a central courtyard, with each apartment designed along a three-tiered path of circulation.
