Project: 253 Pacific Street
Architect: James Cleary Architecture
Location: Brooklyn, NY
The new kid on the block of brownstones is “unapologetically modern,” but seems to fit right in. Warm concrete, wood, and standing-seam zinc cladding create the expected depth and visual interest of a stately townhouse, complete with cascading vegetation from the custom window boxes. The building houses three duplex apartments, each provided with private outside spaces and replete with deluxe contemporary finishes. The efficient design and construction of the building will reduce energy use by 35% with respect to standard construction.
