Friday Five: Try Whipping Up Thanksgiving In These Kitchens
November 16, 2012
The holiday season is among us, and Americans are just days away from the pig-out party of the year. For our international readers, it’s called Thanksgiving, the only institutionalized day of gluttony (that we know of, anyway) where family bonds are alternatively strengthened and undone, and the turkey is always dry. Still, we come together every fourth Thursday of every November of every year to partake in food, drink, and bickering. It’s not always enjoyable, but it’s tradition.
Central to that tradition is Thanksgiving meal, whose preparation is a protracted affair. It’s grueling and little fun, especially if you’re toiling away for nights on end in your tiny apartment kitchen. Oh, this is the same apartment with the 15+ year old oven from hell—it leaks out heat like nobody’s business, burns things, and prompts complaints and cries from your mother-in-law. We understand, really. Our consolation? Our top 5 (or 6) dream kitchens to whip up the perfect and perfectly functional Thanksgiving meal. Enjoy!
