What’s in a name? Well if you’re an architecture school your name is closely tied to student success, recognition, and a whole slew of things that range far past traditional academia. Arch Record has released its annual ranking of America’s best architecture schools, an intimidating task, to say the least! Polling more than 280 architectural and engineering offices, the rankings were determined by which schools employers believed best prepared students for professional practice. There were no big surprises in this year’s graduate rankings (Harvard is still tops!). However, Columbia University was named runner-up for the first time, while the biggest movers were SCI-Arc and UVA, coming in sixth and seventh place respectively. You can read more about the rankings, plus an analysis on the state of architectural education over at Arch Record.
