Forgot Your Keys? Don’t Worry, ASSA ABLOY’s Wireless Locking Systems Give You The Security Of Alcatraz At Your Fingertips

November 14, 2012

Alcatraz

Not all of us have the luxury of perimeter walls and bolted doors, nor the comfort of shark-filled moats to deter criminals from breaking into our homes and facilities. But you don’t need to own a high-security system to feel safe. With its wealth of brands, ASSA ABLOY, has a solution for every security need and price point, making wireless and SEOS-capable systems increasingly affordable. Continue.

A corporate office, hospital, or a school all have different assets they are seeking to protect. ASSA ABLOY knows this, and they offer a locking solution to match every security situation. They’ve added a number of products to cover the spectrum of medium security openings that are predominate in most facilities. Like Aperio™ , the company’s “lead story right now,” says Martin Huddart, VP Electronic Technologies, ASSA ABLOY Americas. “In addition to the institutional locks we launched in 2011, we’ve launched a cabinet lock, a narrow stile lock and a low-cost, commercial-grade lock for lighter duty applications. And shortly, we’ll have an Aperio eCylinder as well.”

Aperio enables a lock to connect wirelessly with a building’s online access control system, providing near-online and near-real time control of the opening. Since there’s no need to run wiring to a door, Aperio can be placed on any opening, giving facilities a cost-effective alternative to wired access control.

The SARGENT® PR100 lock with Aperio™ Technology makes it easy and cost-effective to bring access control to additional doors. It uses local wireless communication between the lock and an Aperio hub to connect to an access control system, eliminating the greatest cost and inconvenience of traditional access control – the wiring at the door.

Featuring Aperio™ technology, IN100 locks make access control easy and affordable. As part of the Aperio family of wireless locks, the IN100 offers easy expansion of existing access control systems to bring a new level of control to your facility.

Control your home locks with your smartphone or tablet, with Yale Real Living locks.

The residential market also has a place in the continuum thanks to the introduction of Yale Real Living home control lock. Real Living connects wirelessly to a home security control system, enabling homeowners to communicate with their lock via smart phone.

SEOS locks

SEOS technology is also becoming integrated into ASSA ABLOY locks. SEOS is an ecosystem of interoperable products and services for issuing, delivering and revoking digital keys on Near Field Communications (NFC) mobile devices so they can be used to open doors to homes, hotels, offices, hospitals, universities, industries and commercial buildings.

With SEOS, home owners can send temporary digital keys to visitors, handymen, and babysitters from their own mobile phones. Issued keys can be revoked through the same interface. Homeowners no longer have to lend out physical keys. Or forget them.
