104-Year-Old Oscar Niemeyer Is In Full Recovery After Hospital Scare

Last week, the Brazilian news announced that 104-year-old Oscar Niemeyer was in the hospital for the third time this year. Thankfully, Publico has announced that the architectural legend is now in full recovery. What’s more, his doctor didn’t even consider losing Niemeyer for a moment. “Risk of death? In no time was it considered,” the doctor said in a press conference. “Of course the hospitalization of a patient of his age is serious, but we did not think about that.” Niemeyer is not only known for his incredible resilience, but also for designing some of Brazil’s most celebrated structures, including the National Congress building and Cathedral of Brasilia. The consumate professional, he is spending his time at the Samaritano Hospital worrying about work. His wife told reporters, “He has several projects and wants to know about the progress of each.”
