Create Your Own Action Figure With New 3D-Printing Photo Booth!
November 12, 2012
Have you ever wanted an action figure modeled after you? Come on, you don’t have to be Narcissus (or maybe Hulk Hogan) to understand just how awesome that would be. Now, thanks to the Omote 3D photo booth, any average joe can enjoy such an opportunity that is typically reserved for movie stars and superheroes. The technology is set to debut on November 24 as part of the Eye of Gyre exhibition in Tokyo. Read more!
The figurines are available in three heights: 4, 6, and 8 inches. In terms of price, don’t let their small stature fool you. These statuettes carry a big price tag, with the cost ranging from $265 to $530. A modest discount is offered for duos and groups of figurines. Wouldn’t this be an awesome alternative to the static family portrait?
Guests must stand in their desired position for 15 minutes as manually operated scanners capture their full-body image. Given that they must be still for so long, participants are advised against choosing outrageous or uncomfortable poses. Certain clothing items, such as shiny jewelry, stiletto heels, stripes, glasses, and bags, are also discouraged. (I suppose that means we should leave our Superman cape at home. Darn!)
The 3D-printer photo booth will be open through January 14, 2013. Walk-in appointments are not allowed, so reserve your spot fast!
