Micasa Lab’s Cocoon 1 Lets You Literally Live In A Bubble
November 8, 2012
Have you ever been criticized for being off in your own world? Maybe even “living in a bubble?” Well, does Micasa Lab have the perfect dwelling for you. The firm’s new Cocoon 1 is clear sphere that offers loners the perfect shield from the outside world. Spanning 6 feet in diameter, the cocoon includes a number of optional modules to ensure maximum comfort. From pillows, to a stove, right down to the kitchen sink, Cocoon 1 is a tiny oasis that brings new meaning to personal space. Read more!
Cocoon 1′s modular pieces make the circular escape a unique space for each user. Base pieces act as furniture, while pillows of different sizes can be used for reading, relaxing, or even sleeping. Storage modules can also snap into place to keep the bubble clean and organized. Some modules even contain power packs for juicing up electronics and lighting. Even a small stove piece is available — and, of course, a coordinating water unit that adds a faucet and sink for post-cooking clean-up.
For those who worry Cocoon 1 will roll itself down the street, have no fear. The plastic orb comes with a base pedestal to keep it in place indoors and out. There is even an optional lead base that keeps the ball upright for those who wish to take their sphere to the high seas!
Micasa Lab hopes to put Cocoon 1 on the market in the fall of 2013 for the cool price of $2,990 a piece.
