Pinaki Studios And Chocolatl Create Delicious Designs Out Of Cocoa

Textile gurus Pinaki Studios and delicious cocoa artisans Chocolatl have teamed up to create the best of both worlds: Edible Surfaces. It all started with an experiment on rust-dyed pleated silk crepe. When folded, the resulting product, with it’s grainy, brown texture, looked amazingly similar to a premium chocolate. Other materials were then used to explore different possibilities with shiny, matte, metallic, and even leathery sweets.
When working together, Arantza Vilas, from Pinaki Studios, and Leslie Vanderleeuw and Erik Spande, from Chocolatl, discovered that their passions, thought quite different, both depended on scientific basics like temperature control, molding, and chemical processes.
