Hear Yee, Hear Yee: Studio Weave’s Trumpet Sculptures Broadcast Nature’s Sounds

Studio Weave wants to make sure those visiting the English countryside really get in touch with nature. The firm’s latest exhibition, “The Hear Heres,” is a playful collection of trumpet horns dotted throughout a Derbyshire Estate that encourages people to listen to the sounds of the outdoors. One trumpet looks down into a serene pond; another points toward the sky. Visitors can ether talk into the lowered end or listen to the amplifications of the the surrounding sounds. Another bugle, wrapped around a giant tree, gives listeners a chance to hear rustling branches and birds. The most interactive horn of the bunch has two megaphone ends, allowing friends to whisper secrets to one another on the great lawn.
