Artist Espen Dietrichson Dramatically Deconstructs Lyon’s Modernist Buildings
September 24, 2012
Norwegian artist Espen Dietrichson sought to create levitating architecture with his series, “Variations on a Dark City.” Culled from the bleak modernism of Lyon, these images are the result of a combination of media, including photography, digital techniques, and screen printing. Evoking the exploded axon, a go-to drawing for architects, they bring a dynamism and visual interest that the original buildings might have lacked. These deconstructions are on view as part of the artist’s One of Many Unusual Moments exhibition at Galerie Roger Tator in Lyon. Read more.
