Building Of The Day: A Deconstructed Ship By Galiano, XPIRAL
September 21, 2012
Building: Club Náutico Lo Pagán
Architect: Javier Peña Galiano, XPIRAL
Location: San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain
Why We Like This:
The Club Náutico Lo Pagán evokes images of a ship under construction—or of a ship being disassembled. The mingling of the timber structure with different metal coverings creates an unfinished appearance, as if the building was still in progress. Curved geometries establish continuity between the roof and the facade; a zinc shell helps keep the building water-tight. Read the complete project description here.
