Leaked Renderings of Apple’s Campus II Peer Inside The Spaceship
September 8, 2012
The tech blog 9to5mac has received leaked drawings of Apple’s soon-to-be-built Campus II in Cupertino, California. The renderings show an enormous circular structure and credit Foster + Partners, Arup, and OLIN for the design. At almost a mile in circumference, Campus II surrounds a verdant courtyard, while its entire roofscape is clothed in solar panels. Continue.
As far as aesthetics, the designers seem to have taken cues from a slightly more elegant form of corporate architecture, preserving the louvers and unadornedness of that genre, while keeping interior spaces open and imbued with the perception of light and air.
The design of the campus was heavily influenced by Steve Jobs, while the presentation of the final proposal for the building was his final public appearance.
