New Portfolio Presents Oscar Niemeyer’s Iconic Works In 3D
July 26, 2012

Oscar Niemeyer’s celebrated work will soon be available in 3D, courtesy of Paddle8, the online art seller, and Visionaire, a multi-format art publication. Together, the two entities have produced a series of ten stereoscopic photographs, based on original prints by Vincente de Paulo, that cast the master’s most famous building in an all-new cinematic glow.
The complete set of de Paulo’s work will be released in September, just in time for the Sao Paolo Biennial, with a limited edition slide portfolio to be packaged with Visionaire‘s 62 RIO issue and which will feature anaglyphic depictions of the Cathedral of Brasília and the Brazilian National Museums, among several others. Best of all, the images really work, going a long way to illustrate an architecture that, in Niemeyer’s own words, “is rich in solutions”.

The portfolio will arrive in a cubic package containing the requisite eyewear, along with a folder of slides and a brochure with 2D representations. Only 200 portfolios are available for preorder, so act quickly! Oh, and head over to Paddle8′s site for an interview with the revered 104-year old architect.
