The folio subjects of British artist Bronia Sawyer’s ‘Book Project’ take their palindromic form from the Rorschach test and its infamous ink-blot figures. The impressive series of sculptures consists solely of paper and clever lighting, with the artist manipulating pages and pages–all molded, meticulously folded–and lighting them to create organic geometries reminiscent of flowers or organs that appear almost computer generated. The works also draw from the artist’s own relationship with dyslexia, or as Sawyer explains, “I combine my old weaknesses with words with my artistic strength, and in doing so, have found that instead of fearing reading and writing, I have grown to love words.” Click through for more.
