Louis Kahn’s Fisher House, located outside of Philadelphia, has been put on the market for a cool $600,000. This seems a bargain for the house, famed for its stone foundation and detailed cypress cladding. Originally designed for Dr. Norman Fisher, the house is composed of two intersecting cubes, one of which was designed to hold the doctor’s medical practice with the other serving as the Fishers’residence.

The house was deeded to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which will ensure that any future additions keep true to Kahn’s design, and that future owners continue to maintain and protect it. While Kahn is most renowned for larger projects, such as the Capitol of Bangladesh, the Yale University Art Gallery, and the Phillips Exeter Library, the Fisher and Esherick houses–both now on the market–are proof that he could work well at a smaller scale, as well. If you’re looking for a home, go buy yourself a piece of architecture history.
