A Look at the Exhibitors at NeoCon 2012
June 1, 2012
It’s coming. NeoCon 2012, the largest interior design expo in North America, kicks off in just 10 days! That means the Merchandise Mart will be soon be packed with stalls, showrooms, exhibits, products, not to mention the mass of visitors who will pass through the halls starting the weekend of June 11-13. Till then, here’s a look at some of the exhibitors we’re most excited about.
Knoll
Knoll hardly needs any introduction. The classic brand maintains a rock-solid portfolio populated by designs from the likes of Eero Saarinen and Marcel Breuer whose forms resonate to this day. The Knoll showroom will display the full breadth of the storied collection, including a line of sustainable products that are made with both recycled and new ecologically responsible materials.
3 Form, Inc.
The ubiquitous while wall office can be a bit…boring. 3 Form, Inc. creates architectural installations and feature walls that are sure to enliven any office space. Check out their “Nature Gallery“, a system of high-res photo “interlayer” panels that display a monumental gallery of nature-themed images, or “Edge“, an undulating showpiece that will add contours and color to any office wall.
Sandler Seating
Mies van der Rohe once made the comparison between the difficulty in designing a chair and a skyscraper. One thing’s for sure, the design problem of seating is not something to be taken lightly. Just ask Sandler Seating, purveyors of all and every type of chair you can think of. We like the Up Chair, for its elegant Klein-bottlesque form that’s supported by spindly wood (or polished metal) legs.
J+J/Invision
As all office designers will know, not all carpets are created equal. J+J/Invision crafts specially-designed carpets and blends that are informed by contemporary aesthetic and materials and, nearly as important, backed by a lifetime performance guarantee.
Davis
A contemporary office needs furniture that’s durable, well-made, and embodies innovative design. Davis Furniture has been doing just that for the last 68 years, crafting quality, award-winning furniture for all work environments. Tre, a new stool design made of molded plywood that takes inspiration from the Ginkgo chair, is definitely a highlight of this year’s conference.
Don’t forget to register for NeoCon 2012! Do so by June 4th to secure your free pass to the show.
