Russian based street artist Nomerz transforms inane piece of infrastructure into indelible portraits that drip with personality and wit. Nomerz uses both the architecture (ledges, windows, eaves) and its defects (cracks, holes, rust) to fashion a series of comical and grotesque faces, achieving a wide range of emotions that permeate the works’ surroundings. The cast of colorful characters vary from the musing and contemplative to the melancholic and bemused to the raging and excited. A water tower becomes a miserly old man, its tall narrow shaft accommodating a long, wispy beard, while a filled-in archway is covered with a garish face of a man-baby (think Family Guy, only a lot scarier). Click through for more!
