Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
January 10, 2012
Nowhere in the world is the capacity of pure, concentrated manpower as apparent as it is in China. A new video released by Chinese sustainable building company Broad Group uses time-lapse footage set to a pulsating jungle beat to show another seemingly impossible feat accomplished by the Middle Kingdom: a 30-story hotel prototype was erected in a mere 360 hours. Shots of entire floors assembled at astonishing speeds are juxtaposed with brief interludes of construction facts boasting better earthquake resistance, higher energy efficiency, and superior air circulation. Stairways climb upward, walls are paneled, and rooms are furnished to the riveting score of a dramatic high-speed chase. Stay tuned for Broad Group’s next hotel on the lunar surface!
