The Deepest, Creepiest Hotel in the World
October 31, 2011
On this Halloween morning, we’re dishing out photos of possibly the creepiest hotel we’ve seen yet, aside from Stanley Kubrick’s spatially impossible Overlook Hotel from The Shining. Spice up a trip to Sweden by staying in the Sala Silvermine, located 75 miles from Stockholm and 155 feet below ground. Formerly Sweden’s largest source of silver, this hotel now invites guests to drink champagne in catacomb-like settings and enjoy live entertainment in the sinister red glow of the dining room. The brave at heart can also go cave diving in 35°F water if so desired. If you tunnel a little further, we’re sure you’ll run straight into the Wikileaks Headquarters!
