It’s no secret we’ve been on a little bit of a Star Wars kick recently. Imagine our pleasure when we saw the winner of the Chicago Athenaeum’s International Architecture prize was CX-21, a plan for LucasFilm’s new Singapore offices that was inspired by the Sandcrawler from Star Wars.

The design by Andrew Bromberg, Executive Director of international design firmĀ Aedas keeps the imposing form, but replaces the original’s COR-TEN steel (we imagine) with sleek glass and the giant treads with lush landscaping, to create something clearly inspired by the film without resorting to kitsch.
