This weekend marked the apex of the New Museum’s Festival of Ideas for the New City, with a street festival localized around the Bowery on Saturday and a gallery exhibition at Openhouse NYC, debuting the 50-foot-long plexi model of Manhattan we’ve been gushing about for two weeks.
Audi Urban Future: Project New York was a big hit: 1200 visitors came to ogle the model and accompanying exhibition on Saturday alone, and Architizer and Audi Urban Future Initiative hosted a swanky party for the architect winners of both stages of the project — Juergen Mayer H., Bjarke Ingels, LEONG LEONG, Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and more.
Above is an exclusive video detailing the fabrication of the model with the five architect teams. (For more info, see here for parts one, two, and three of our series revealing Audi Urban Future: Project New York.)
