Competition Competition 2010
January 12, 2010
We are so excited to announce our first award for architecture work. It is an entirely new kind of architectural award that chooses its winner from the un-rewarded competition entries of 2009.
Our thinking went like this: the tons of architecture competitions held every year produce thousands of amazing projects, but only one winner from each contest. We want to discover the gems that almost made it. That should have made it! We want to see all that work!
So… we lined up an amazing jury, booked a space in Noho, and now we are inviting architects around the world to show us their best work from 2009 that didn’t quite win.
It’s really easy to join and doesn’t cost a thing.
There is a cash prize of $1500, and an exhibition planned in NYC for the winners. Also you can vote for your favorite entries by searching for the tag ‘CC2010,’ identifying your favorite projects, and following them (just click ‘Follow this project’). The project with the most followers by the end of the submission period on February 15th will receive a prize as well. Let us know what you think and good luck! I can’t wait to see the entries in a month from now.
Jury includes:
- Ada Tolla from LOT-EK
- Jared Della Valle from Della Valle Bernheimer
- Andres Lepik, the Curator of Contemporary Architecture at MoMA
